Today, PHT, Apple announces new operating systems across its platforms. This is one of Apple’s most ambitious software rollouts yet, spanning every device, with a bold new design, powerful on-device AI, a tighter ecosystem, and user-centric features. It’s shaping up to be a major leap forward by autumn.
Apple introduced a sweeping visual overhaul called Liquid Glass, featuring translucent, glass-like UI elements across Apple devices. This stylish new design brings depth and light responsiveness to its new user interface.
Starting this year, the version numbers will match the year following their release. The upcoming updates will be called iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26. These updates are expected to be available in late 2025. This new system is simpler than the old one, which used numbers like iOS 19 or macOS 16.

The new macOS brings the Liquid Glass look, smarter Spotlight search (now with actionable commands!), and deeper Phone app integration — including voice messages and call history
